It seems that some readers have encountered an error message while reinstalling the Windows printing subsystem. This problem occurs for many reasons. Let’s discuss this now.
If you’re having problems with individual printers or queues, you canthere are a few steps to follow to clear the whole system and we will thank them in order from easiest to hardest:
1 Simple Pressure Release
- Press START and type PRINTER.
- Click on the primary printer you want to delete and click on the REMOVE DEVICE button.
2 – Print Intermediate System Resets
- Remove Windows printing features:
- Press START and type FEATURES, then select FEATURES and uncheck:
– Microsoft PRINT TO PDF
– MICROSOFT XPS DOCUMENT WRITER
– PRINT AND DOCUMENT SERVICES - Click OK and restart your computer when prompted.
- Press START and type FEATURES, then select FEATURES and uncheck:
- Stop the print spooler by pressing START, type SERVICES and press SERVICES, find Print Spooler, right-click it and select STOP.
- Press START, type PRINT CONTROL and press PRINT CONTROL
- If you don’t see it, install PRINT MANAGEMENT CONSOLE

- Delete as many files as possible
- Expand PRINT SERVERS > PRINTERS, then right-click and delete everything you can.
- Expand PRINT SERVER > PORTS, then right-click yours and delete whatever you can.
- Expand PRINT SERVER > DRIVERS, then right-click to select and remove everything you can.
- If you don’t see it, install PRINT MANAGEMENT CONSOLE
- Restart your computer
3 – Reset The Expert Level Printing System
How do I reset my print environment?
If you really don’t see it, install the PRINT CONSOLE. Right-click the START button > APPLICATIONS AND FEATURES > ADDITIONAL FEATURES > ADD FUNCTION > PRINT MANAGEMENT CONSOLE.Erase as best you can. Expand PRINT SERVER > PRINTERS, then move to the right and delete your entire family.
- Stop the print spooler by clicking START, enter SERVICES and just click SERVICES, find Print Spooler on the right, click it and select STOP.
- Press START, type REGEDIT and remove the following keys:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER
- SOFTWAREClassesLocal SettingsPrinters
- PrintersPlugeniya
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlPrint
- Printer
